It was mentioned in his moose thread, @44hunter45 commissioned me to build him a rifle. Another rifle he was having built wasn't going to make deadline so we put a rush order in on a new barrel.

He drove the rifle down, went over specs and did a little BS'n.

Once the barrel showed up, everything was torn down and degreased.

After truing the action, the barrel was fit and chambered.

With the barrel installed, the stock was bedded after opening the barrel channel for the heavier barrel.

Everything checked out on the bedding, time to jewel the bolt and bead blast.

Everything together and test fired. Moose season is right around the corner!

I am one happy camper. Starting load workups tonight.

Thanks to @noharleyyet for not going Karen when I cut in front of him in line.

Better get those orders in. Pretty soon a CCM built rifle will be more than us normal folk can afford.

The next two projects will be blued and wood.

@44hunter45, I wasn’t sure where Fallon, NV was, so I had to look it up on the map. That looks like quite a drive. How do you get there from Central Idaho?

Gorgeous work, and minute of moose for sure!!

I've known some fly fishermen who "have a heavy hand with a tape measurer" :) but my eyes read that as 0.721" center to center.

Totally splitting irrelevant moose hairs, and good luck on your adventure!
Good catch! I hope @44hunter45 doesn’t have the same problem with a compass needle. 😀

Tough crowd.

Not .821" for being past the hash mark?

The .358 Norma is such a wonderful cartridge. I too have one that was a ten year labor of love project. If you need any load data I have some.....mine digests 250 Nosler partitions nicely. Mine does happen to be wood and blue topped with a Dockter 1.5 x 6.

I'll take the bait...

With the authority vested in me as a son of 7B, I grant 1L full North Idaho status with all honors, rights, and privileges belonging thereto.
I would be content with throwing the area covered by Units 10 and 12 under the moniker, “North Idaho” because they are neat. But, 8 and 8A? Really? 😀

@44hunter45, I bet your 358 will cloverleaf with handloads using Hammers.
