3D Mapping Beta on goHunt

ONX just posted an Instagram story of 3D mapping... looks like GoHunt’s release is putting the pressure on OnX to up their game. What a great time to be a consumer

And while you are at it, get the hell off my lawn . . . . ;)
Hey, it's easy to sit on your ass at home and check out areas across the country. Then, you can even pay someone to figure out draw odds, look up harvest statistics and pretty much anything else. Just sign up. Easy. mtmuley

This is great! I've always been a huge fan of OnX and GoHunt, I am looking forward to the app and maybe drop one of the two expensive memberships...

The beta seemed pretty smooth. Not sure I am excited about testing a new mobile app a couple of weeks before the season so I hope this gets launched in Aug. If goHunt will make downloading a unit for offline use less ridiculously manual block by block (yes, ONX, users have only been griping about this for 3+ yrs), I will switch. Not a game-changer because I like to park and walk, but CarPlay support would be nice when driving in a new area. Not having MN property lines is a bummer but not a game changer for where/how I hunt but seems like something they will want to add in the future for the reasons mentioned above.

Anybody else able to see elevations on a waypoint? Everything is "0ft" for me.

edit: NEVERMIND - It works in 3D mode.

Not a fan of the ESRI sat imagery but understand they don't have a lot of choices, and would like to see "open green roads" added to WY HMA overlays when they get to that point. Their user data organization is a welcome change.

You guys need an image that gives real time where the game is. Most of the time this is the best site for hunting available. Sometimes it isn't. mtmuley

Curious, what would you prefer, and does any competitor have it?

Other than GE, I haven't seen better than brand O but those two aren't options. Mapbox has one zoom level where it's good but it gets blurry on max resolution and funky colors and blurry when you zoom out further. Bing, mapquest, and the USDA imagery isn't very good where I do comparisons. The ESRI stuff is uniform thru the zoom levels which you want, it's just missing that last bit of clarity. Again, not a lot of options for them.
