300 Win Mag passed the Walmart Test!

Core Lokts are fine bullets if used within their operational limits. I discovered after some time that my guns don't like the 180-grain Core Lokts, but they love the 150s. Most of our range time involves Core Lokts. I have never had core separation or serious fragmentation on any game.

However, I am starting to move away from Core Lokts for three reasons:

1) Not available in .338 Federal

2) My .308s won't shoot the 180-grains well (they shoot 180-grain Fusions well)

3) Considering moving to copper for hunting.

Still, Core Lokt is my go-to for range time. When I feel I need something better for the hunt (ex. Daughter used a .243 on bear and I wanted something stronger), I typically choose a cartridge that has the same (or close) point of impact. The .243 Nosler Partitions were a perfect match for the 100-grain Core Lokts.
