Football General Talk

This was the best part of the game and I don't even like the Eagles. The Chiefs players were all talking like they had their 3rd Superbowl won.
Little did Kelce know it was going to get much worse. :ROFLMAO:

Fake outrage against them. Fake joy for them losing.
People want to hate for the sake of hating. This year it's the Chiefs. Used to be Brady. Will be somebody new in the future.
You can see in previous posts folks are simply manufacturing scenarios to hate them. Claiming Chiefs players were outwardly talking like they won the game before it started (find me a quote of that happening). Posting pictures of dejected Chiefs players from games clearly not the SB and insinuating it was.
Idk.
Kelce and Mahomes are over-exposed from commercials, but they seem to be far from the devil spawn folks paint them out to be.

While I was hoping the Chiefs would lose, it was more motivated by my bias of generally cheering for the underdog. After the fact, it is clear the better team won. The Eagles physically dominated the Chiefs, from beginning to end.

Given the deep divisions in our society, most everyone could find a reason to align with or against either team.

The NFL's barrage of Swift/Chief's minutiae bears bitter fruit. I certainly don't blame the ad copy marketing angle but people are entitled to their opinions. Who the hell want's to expend the energy that hate consumes?

You sound mad Mr Bill...

I actually was pulling for the Chiefs but there's no arguing who the better team was.

As a Broncos fan, thou shalt not root for the Chiefs.
I can get behind the actual sports rivalry aspect of dislike/hate 100%. As a Vikings fan, I'm as much anti bears, packers, lions, as I am pro-Vikings.

I should have clarified above, the fake outrage and fake hate are what I don't get. People coming out of left field to pile on someone just for the sake of piling on. The random folks who have just decided to hate Taylor Swift because they show her watching the game from suite with her BF's mom. Hate the networks or the NFL for that. I don't see anyone directing their outrage towards Kevin Hart, John Hamm, Paul Rudd, Miles Teller, Pete Davidson, or any of the other celebrities that are actually part of the broadcast and production and are used to hype up the crowds and such.

It's all a microcosm of the world we live in, I suppose. Hate, disdain, outrage, violence, vulgarity, etc. all sell far more than love, respect, and decency.

The game was belt-to-ass from kickoff to confetti. Eagles dominated and the Chiefs never adjusted once.

Well said
Thanks

I respect the Chiefs, Mahomes, Kelce, Swift.
Earlier in the season I will admit being annoyed with the Kelce/ Swift side show.
Seem like a good couple, just leave them alone. I turn on to watch football.
Chiefs as a team are remarkable. Individual players are stars. Fun to watch.
This season so much went their way, close games. I get the feeling the media hyped up the players too much about three peat.
In any case, eventually great teams get served a dose of humble pie. I think they had it coming, too bad it was the SB.
At least they didn't have a perfect record spoiled by one catch.( Patriots)
Mahomes has plenty of time .

What are everyone's thoughts on next year's surprise team (i.e. Washington Commies)?

I could see a team like the Patriots being much improved next year. Vrabel is a hell of a coach. Coming back home. Tons of cap space. Lots of draft capital. Young potential franchise QB who showed he can play a little bit. Biggest question being is whether Josh McDaniels going to be able to resurrect his offense again. The guy is a trainwreck of a HC, but he's proven in the past he can coordinate a high level offense.
