280 AI shooters

My brother has one in Kimber and loves it. I’ve seen it shoot well with a pencil barrel. I’m a 7RM guy but if I didn’t have a 7RM id probably get the 280AI. As noted by others, there are a lot of benefits - 5 rounds in mag, muzzle blast is less than my 7RM. Pushes a bullet at speeds very near to 7RM.

The nice thing about the Kimber is the 280AI is on a smaller and lighter action than the 7RM.

I've been shooting a 280AI since 2013 when I took my original Remington 700 BDL I got as a high school graduation gift and had it rechambered to a 24" Pacnor barrel. I absolutely love the gun. Reloading has been easy as It has shot nearly every bullet from 131 to 160 grain well with nearly all powders I've tried. Currently reloading 150's right at 3000 fps with RL23.

I love the 280AI. It is a well rounded and extremely versitile cartridge. I shoot 140 gr. Partition or 140 gr. Accubond in mine. I've taken antelope, deer, elk, and a grizzly bear with it. All have been one shot. I found a used Model 70 Classic Sporter in 270 Win and had my gunsmith chamber and put a custom barrel on it and some other work and I could not be more pleased. It shoots fantastic!
