Anyone hunt and killed elk with the Barnes 250 tez bullets?

I tried them out of my CVA Optima...they shot good but the Hornady Monoflex shot better. Just another option for you to try

Excellent results in my old Omega w/BH.

Never killed an elk with one but with how they have performed on deer and the odd one I found I wouldn’t have any hesitation shooting and elk with one

100gr by volume.
They are hard to stuff. I upgraded end and used a t-handle I would thread on end of ramrod.

Hank is spot on. I have a short starter with the T handle and then go to the ram rod.when the barrel gets fouled on mine it seems like the short starter gets the bullet past the worst part.

I carried both short starter and the t-handle for my rod. Also loads in tubes all ready. Only used Hoppes to clean and light oil.
I never needed a second shot.
Except at range.

I've not killed an elk with them, but have used them on 10-12 whitetail with no issues. Never had any trouble loading them, but I always run a dry patch through after every shot. I've recovered 4-5, mostly right under the opposite hide and they all looked just like the pics below.

I use the 290’s. I have two inlines both Thompson centers
Omega and an encore pro hunter. Both 50 caliber and both have killed multiple elk with one lost to a poor rushed shot. Sorry for the late response, been on a tractor most of the day

No worries. I have about 30 of the 250’s. I think the 290’s would be a better option. I shot a Muley years ago with 250’s and hell all mighty what a hole. Nothing will survive after being hit with one of these.

3 elk taken with the 290 TMZ. Ranges from 30 yd to 165 yd. All picture perfect performance. 105 gr wt BH.

The TMZ 250 did a great job on this one last fall in NM at 135ish yards. Accurate as neck out of my TC Encore with 100gr 777.
