I believe the serial number should be under the front scope mount on the left side of the action. You may be able to see the bottom of the numbers if you look close.

Seems to have got some rust action going on, I left it in my pickup during hunting season this year and it got relatively cold. Looks like I've got some work to do. You can see the serial here and the bolt as requested. Thank you all for the help!

Definitely a pre-64 Winchester. Can't read the numbers in the photo though. Rust should be taken care of with a brass brush & hopes #9.

I'd say about $650-700 at most.

It's rechambered to a .25-06AI from a .257 ROBERTS. According to what it looks like, I've been shooting 25.06 rounds through it and taking deer with it yearly since I found it. But, I'm going to take it to a gunsmith to get this all checked out to be safe. It's an interesting piece!

somewhere between 53 & 54, yes.

Definitely take it to a smith to see what the chamber and barrel look like and to make sure it's all still correct.
