So been home few days now and still unpacking and cleaning equiptment. Got a cow tag near house i may try to fill still along with some ducks but season is winding down and thought i would post some pics from the adventures that started back in mid august. Roughly 15k miles of $5 average diesel sucked and was this seasons only real negative. Got to meet several HT'rs along the way and would especially like to thank @Stocker for hosting me on a deer hunt, i truely hope to repay the favor many times over. I will say having meet the man that seems to struggle with masculine facial hair that he married way above his league. A great wife and 2 amazing and fun kids that i truley enjoyed hanging out with just as much as the hunting. Then theres @Jbotto who shows up to camp with significantly more beer than we can drink, but it is fun to try. Wyoming allows the transfer of tags to disabled veterans as many of you know and annually i host a fellow disabled vet for a hunt. This year @BoomerUSAF decided he wanted a rare November muley tag i had avaliable to transfer to shot his first muley. The hunt started slow and big bucks were elusive for few days but we seen 100s of deer everyday and with a storm pending Brandon made a fine shot on a great 4x3. He seemed to enjoy himself and as always i love the oppurtunity to hunt with my fellow vets (more than most could understand) so thanks for joining me for the hunt this year Brandon and hope you had a good time! Here is some pics including my biggest bull with a bow, probably my biggest whitetail, a antelope shot at 10kfeet, buddys camp i helped, and some random scenic pics and other animals that i took this fall. My single favorite day of the fall: my daughter had a day off sports/school to join me for a day of fun hunting for a cow. We drank hot cocoa and seen 100s of elk in unit next to us but never had a oppurtunity. She had a blast when she wasnt sleeping and i just enjoy days like those, i will always remember them and value the memory over any set of horns i could put on the wall. Now i can try to catch up on 4 months of i am sure quality threads about boots, creedmores, tag fees and everyone has become a "freak"... going to be a long winter!IMG_20220822_094228.jpgIMG_20221117_180243.jpgIMG_20221006_130155~2.jpgIMG_20221011_080746.jpgIMG_20221108_152230.jpgIMG_20220918_082220.jpgIMG_20221122_155931.jpgIMG_20221001_131226.jpgIMG_20221117_172356.jpgIMG_20220926_082236.jpgIMG_20220929_172030.jpgIMG_20221019_072515.jpgIMG_20221006_081616.jpgIMG_20221102_112510~2.jpgIMG_20221208_100803.jpgIMG_20221112_083012.jpg

Good for you buddy! Looks like a lot of quality people you got to spend time with. Bummer you didn't get to join my wife and I on our special hunt, I'm sure you would have greatly enhanced the experience. Maybe next year!

I wish i could of, i enjoyed following your wifes elk hunt via texting but was amazing how tight schedule got. Maybe next season we can grab them winning lottery tickets on a hunt together.

Wow, what a season! Congratulations on time spent in the field and with friends!

^^^^

Interesting palatal malpositioning on the right side tooth on the deer, and a good example of periodontal dehiscence on the elk. No pain for the deer if it could avoid tongue trauma, but I imagine the elk would have had chronic pain and avoid function on the side if possible.

All the euros are done and just need to be placed. Not sure why but every year when I do these euros I really enjoy how they turn out. Time to start off-season maintenance and honey-dos maybe mix in some ice fishing along with some wolf/lion hunts.IMG_20230118_112633.jpg

Following up on above post with a update. I shot this buck on a cwd tag, biologist asked me to shot a old buck and told me poor antler genetics in area and to not expect much and would likely be disappointed in overall antler size. He was right about small horns, but heres oldest deer i seen in nearly 2 weeks (glassing 100-300deer a day), seen 2 that might have been bigger but only by a little. So after loading him in SXS, packing trailer i headed to the bios' house for sampling they want with these tags. He showed me pics of every deer killed in the unit so far and expected this one to be amongst the oldest. He guessed him by looking at teeth at 6.5 years which made him happy and took all his samples. Today i logged into g&f and sure enough in my age data page it shows him at 6.5 offically so bio nailed it and makes me happy to have contributed a mature sample for their data. I think i am going to start turning in all my wyoming animals for aging.IMG_20221108_152230.jpgScreenshot_20230214-173238_Chrome~2.jpg
