2025 NM draw results

0/16 years in NM for multiple species. Tired of waiting so secured a 34 UW LO archery elk tag.

I quit doing that when they went to $3,500.

i somehow managed to draw a Stallion Range Oryx tag Sep 5-7. Cannot believe it.

Same for February I'm stoked.

Drew mule deer muzzleloader 23 burro mountain. I've hunted this unit multiple times but never in the burro mountain area. Pretty pumped up

Never have drawn any tag from New Mexico and still didn’t this year, even with one hunt going into the guide pool had 80 percent draw odds according to GOHUNT but oh well maybe there is another tag to be drawn or raffle ticket to be won that would have interfered or not allowed the time off of work to go on them all.

Definitely not fish in barrel. they are pretty conditioned to haul when they see a rig but there’s a lot of them. should have plenty of opportunities

I don’t know of anyone who hunts Coues on here. I too hunted that species in AZ, fun stuff. You might get more traction on monstermuleys.

I did not do a write up. Oryx aren't hard to find there, don't shoot the first one you see, you will see plenty. I decided I wasn't going to shoot the first day and just glassed multiple spots all day long. Killed mine early on morning two.

My interest in write ups has dropped as quickly as draw odds.

But draw odds would improve if you had to choose to go into the draw, or hunt e-plus, but could not hunt e-plus after failing to draw. Currently everyone who can only go into the draw is also fighting against people who will get an elk tag even if they don’t draw.

I hold nothing against anyone who takes advantage of the rules. I may hold a little against someone who only wants the rules to benefit them. I have come to the conclusion that I should avail myself of every advantage the rules allow, even if I don’t like the rule. It’s okay to take advantage of the rules while advocating for better rules.

I hope you get a great elk this year!

This year I used my luck in AZ it seems.

Morning, FNG here. My son drew unit 23, elk, rifle, this year. It will be his first hunt of anything!!! Well, he killed a bunny last fall. He's USMC combat vet.. Anyway, he's letting me go as camp cook. At least I get to go!! I'm in TX so, it kinda hard to help him scout. So far he looking near Dinner Canyon off 288. if y'all can help me help him with info that would be assume. I can't make a new thread as I'm new. If there is another place I should post, please let me know.
