I’m not in the area unfortunately. I’d like to go to a dual meet at the Bryce Jordan Center someday. I’m a season ticket holder to Iowa. I think there is 2 home duals left verse Nebraska and Oklahoma State.

125 - Lilledahl might have the best reshot I’ve ever seen. He broke Cruz with that ride after the injury time and bullied his way to the tech fall.
133 Davis ducks Ayala (sorry I couldn’t resist) and Psu bumps up a 125lber that looks bigger than Ayala. Ayala gets a workmanlike tech fall in the second period.
141 Iowa sends out a Shriever. Bartlet has trouble with bloody nose and settles for a decision. Not a very impressive victory for a returning ncaa finalist against a second string.
149 Van ness gets an early td. parco escapes and get a td of his own. Van ness gets a td and keeps a leg turn for 4 NF. We used to drill the takedown to leg Turk for hours in college. Parco is gassed and broke. Van Ness wins 17-6.
157 Kasak gets an early takedown and doesn’t give up anything else. . Kasak wins by decision.
At the the break it’s 15-5 PSU. Iowa looks like they maybe are still in the hotel or want to be back on the bus to Maryland for Sunday

165 Messenbrink gets two takedowns in the first period. Messenbrink Ends the match by tech fall. 1 vs 2 and 1 made 2 look silly.
174 scoreless first period, Haines opens up his offense, but Kennedy is still fighting in the second. Haines needs a ride out with 20 seconds in the 3rd for a MD and Kennedy gets out. He still loses, but that is grit from Kennedy. Haines is just too much though. 10-7 decision.
184 after Arnold calls out starrocci but he doesn’t even weigh in. The crowd boos Ferrari. Iowas backup is Angelo Ferrari a true freshman who is game. Starrocci moves him around the mat and gets a stalling calls and a point. Starrocci wins with a stall point, an escape and a riding point. Hes a 4 time champ but you’d expect a little more action against a true freshman. Starrocci wins 3-1.
197 Buchanan vs Barr 1vs 4 Buchanan is winning 2-0 with short time and gets a takedown. The first takedown for Iowa since 133. 5-0 Buchanan wins.
Hwy. Kueter is a 2x world medalist but he has been wrestling scared all season. Kerkvliet puts on a clinic. And wins 12-2

Minnesota is the only team to ever have 10 all Americans in the same year. It was 2001? In Carver Hawkeye arena, I was there! and they had 0 champions, but 10 all Americans to win the championship. Could PSU finish with 10 all Americans this year? YES! And I could see several in the finals and all in the top 5.

I’ll keep this in mind for next year. I have some buddies who are big wrestling fans and we’ve been talking about getting down to Carver Hawkeye for a match.
