This is going to be one of the greatest adventures I’ll ever go on I think. I’ve been dreaming of being able to do a CO Velvet high country hunt for 35+ years. I was fortunate enough to grow up following the adventure of Chuck Adam’s, Larry D. Jones, Mike Eastman, Randy Ulmer, Early Cam Hanes, My dad. All of whom instilled a passion for Mule deer. Especially some articles in Field and Stream, Pertersons bow hunting in the late 80’s and 90’s. I also get to share this adventure with my daughter who is coming along for this 12-ish day adventure into CO back country!

excited to follow this.

wish i could've joined when the option was on the table.

i had to return my own archery deer tag anyway.

That does sound like a great trip. I sure enjoy my pack goats. If they're staring at something, I get the binoculars out, and sure enough there'll be a game animal.

Looking forward to this. I’ve enjoyed reading your hunts in the past and this is going to be a good one!!

These are a few breakfast burritos that I made for CO and NV this next week. Ingredients are as follows:
Red/gold potatoes 2 per
Than a bit of syrup
Than 1/2 cup cheese
Than 2 slices of bacon
Than about 2 eggs
Roll up tight, put in tin foil, I pack a quart freezer bag just in case I need to boil it, if there’s a fire closure. 3 per gallon zip lock.
I usually eat these the first 2-3 days when we pack in.

I hate I’m missing it but you ended up with even better company. I’m sure you’ll make it happen. I’ll be in Wyoming packing my on gear in since I don’t have a buddy with goats coming to do it for me. I’ll also have to make my own burritos I guess.

Can’t wait to see what you turn up!
