Hello Everyone,

I am just looking for the condition update for the Eastern Big Belts specifically the Woods Creek Fire from 2021. Looking on Google Earth and mapping software I'm having trouble determining the severity of the fire. I'm considering hunting the area Unit 391 & 446 this September for archery elk. It looks like this year was good for rain and snow so I am hoping if it was not too hot of a fire that there would be some good conditions. It's a 30-hour drive and with limited time to hunt, I rather not waste time going there if the ground is charred.

onX has something called Imagery On Demand. Theyll take a 3km picture for you of any area you'd like. Its $60. Might be worth it. You could get screwed if its partly cloudy, but it'll answer your question with real life up to date imagery.

Thank you! I have heard of the real time satellites had not even thought about that! The most recent Google Earth was Jan 23 and covered in snow!
