Lived in Alaska a year or so in the early 80's. Saw a photo somewhat similar the that up there except. Guy fishing had a salmon on his line and the photo was snapped right after a bear had jumped in and caught the fish! Have no idea if he caught the fish and bear! Guess is he cut his line!Young client with his first king and a young grizz with, given how hard he worked at it, his first sockeye. We were watching the bear when the young fellas rod went off.View attachment 161741View attachment 161742
Ive had bears go after hooked fish, typically Reds “sockeye” on several occasions. Once a fella from New Zealand had hooked a very nice Sockeye, had him well into his backing. A bear came out of the willows grabbed the fish and ended up with the hook in is nose. That bear got all the fly line.Lived in Alaska a year or so in the early 80's. She swam away strong! I’m not aware of multiple strains in our area. She is from a county park I live adjacent to. 23 1/2” X 18”. not many people target bass around here prior to the season opener which is in late June.Sweet. They have Florida strain in NY? Did she swim away?
