Backcountry rings are good. So are DNZ game reapers.

I had my Swaro Z5 mounted in the Talley LW on my .340 Wby. I switched them out last year for the Ken Farrel steel rings and a Murphy Precision Ti rail. I'm very happy with the results. In October I was side hilling trying to catch up to my guide that had a tripod set up on a bull across the canyon. Paying more attention to the elk than where I was stepping, I slipped on a log concealed in the foot tall grass and fell on my rifle. I hit so hard that the Swarovski aluminum objective cover was bent and I couldn't get it open. I was able to get up to my guide, mount the rifle on the tripod, force the objective cover open and chamber a round. I shot the bull, hitting right where I was aiming. When I got home a week later, I shot the rifle to confirm zero, and it was still 2 inches high at 100 shooting a .70 group. I'm sure the mounts helped keep things shooting where they should and can't say what the result would have been if I had left the Talley lightweight aluminum mounts on my rifle.

DNZ makes a really nice set of rings, they just don’t look right!

Never had an issue with Talley rings. I do lap my rings although I’m not 100% sure it’s necessary but I have never had a scope move. No need for 20MOA rings or anything with that z5 as you just get one turn of up.

You don't mention if you have a base/bases or not.
Are you planning on using bases?
Or are you planning on a base/ring combo?
Personally I prefer a one piece base. Gives more adaptable solutions for setting up the scope.
As you can tell, there are a lot of good ring manufacturers out there.
My preference is EGW.
I do have others that work just as well.
But being made in my home state of Pennsylvania, the quality, and price keep bringing me back.

Yes I should have added also in the market for a set of bases. I know it's a trivial thing but I don't like the look of a single base over a bolt so will probably go with a split pair.

Don't believe they make rings for a 1 inch tube.

Hawkins Precision featherweights are a great lightweight option.

I've mounted at least 20 of my own and other's rifles with Talley 1" and 30mm lightweights, lapped and unlapped, all on magnums...not a single issue.

Caught the Wheeler kit on clearance at Midway this summer. I've started lapping mine with some coaching from @p_ham.
Talley bases and 1" rings on the 358 Norma and it hasn't moved after about 100 rounds.

I rely wholeheartedly on talley. I've had all other rings fail at some point. Even a steel set of Weaver brand rings broke. Talleys one piece design eliminates alot of failure points. I have them on at least 4 maybe 5 rifles for years with zero problems. My wife a few months ago leaned my barn rifle standing up against the wall in our concrete floor barn, it fell over and straight slammed the concrete. The mounts were fine. What shocked me was it didn't even loose zero.
