12 states join Utah

That is not a bad idea.

Nonresident DIY public land hunters sure could use an advocate, they are quite scarce these days unfortunately. Enough on this subject for me for a bit.
If only the BHA had put together a GoFundMe for a group of Non-Residents arrested for corner crossing in Wyoming. And then provided Pro-bono legal aid.

Oh wait - They did.

I dont even need to click the link. Did you read it or the article?

"Today’s rejection of Utah’s attempted land grab reaffirms what we’ve long known: These lands belong to all Americans and were never Utah’s to take."

You firing up that CO NR advocacy group?

“I do not agree with the 75/25 split,” said resident hunter Joshua Haga during the public comment session at Thursday’s meeting. “All other Western states give nonresidents between five and sometimes 15 percent of tags. We’re way too generous, and it’s at the demise of our youth and also our resident hunters.”

The first step to advocating is being invited to have a seat at the table. NR do not have said seat - and dont deserve one either. If you wish for more influence/control from outside of a state - you arent going to like the results at home in your state either.

I was butt hurt about BHA refusing to pick a side on CO wolf reintroduction, and dropped my membership. I still get their emails, still sign their petitions, still share 95% of their stated values. I have seen little to nothing negative about them since the woofs. Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Project, Nature Conservancy, Wilderness Society, RMEF are others I support by membership. all of those are contacting me in opposition to divestiture of public lands currently being suggested by GOP national leadership.

Proud to see Alaska joined in. We are still owed 6 million acres of federal land. The state does an incredible job of land management here. I hope this gains traction at a lower court. We need to get rid of the federal subsistence board over the next 4 years and open these federal lands back up or turn them over to the DNR

I'm impressed BHA shares 95% of your values and yet you don't support them anymore. Most nonprofits I give to share about 80% of my values. Groups that share 100% of each others values are called cults.

Also interesting that the groups you mention you support instead owe very little to their grassroots and tend to go with the will of either their big donors or just what their boards decide they think is best. BHA's state chapters have to answer to their grassroots membership, which means if membership can't come together, BHA will usually stay out. I support some of those groups as well, but it is worth acknowledging that they function under different models.
