11 days until my daughter’s Colorado elk hunt, finished dialing a 7mm-08 load over the weekend. Settled on a 140 TTSX over Power Pro2000MR because it was available. 2945 fps. I think this load will work. She’ll turn 16 while on the hunt.


We have her 1st rifle CO elk hunt, then my Brother in law, my Dad, my son and I all have second rifle season buck tags. I’ll leave my truck & all my gear in CO after her hunt, fly home for a week, fly back to CO the next Thursday and hunt the whole second season. Should be a pretty fantastic couple of weeks.

Lasagna
Chili
Tacos
Chicken & noodle soup
Chicken enchiladas
Steaks (will grill ribeyes Friday night)

One thing is we don’t go hungry out there.

Heck yeah that load will work. Been playing with my wife's new X bolt in 7mm08 using 44gr Varget and 120gr Barnes TTSX. Might try the 140gr if I can find them.
