Relax, Everything is Going to be Okay!

There are ways trim the fat. Letting 19 year olds with checkered criminal history hack into our most secure infrastructure is not it. I have quite a few Republican friends in the .gov sector now that have already flipped their lid on these antics. Another is a plumber that owns his own business...

Wannabe Mountain Lion Hunter from SC now in New Mexico. Any tips or offers to join much appreciated. I have two tags so if anyone wants to join please

Let me get this straight, you come into this forum talking about nearly poaching an animal and I refer you to the appropriate game laws yet I'm the idiot?

Please get a copy of the NM Game and Fish Hunting laws and read it front to back, seven times. You can just go out and shoot animals without valid licenses, tags, seasons and quotas. Also, certain animals like bear and cougar require special inspections within certain times. Bobcats are their...

    F150 Payload question

First of all don't take any stranger's advice on this forum as safety/legal gospel. Echo what three other guy said about legality - those laws vary by state. My buddies double tow jetskis with a 5th wheel sometimes and they don't like it. Definitely upsets balance even with one tons and 5ers...

    F150 Payload question

I'd say hard no on an F150 unless you have the rare HDPP version. Payload is a red herring - basically a suggestion from OEM's to help you keep your headlights from pointing at the sky. All sorts of assumptions on load distribution with this number. Example - my F350 has nearly 4000lb payload...

    Tikka vs Bergara

Yes I did "proper" barrel break in with cleaning up to 20 rounds. I no longer do that because every custom rifle gunsmith I've spoken to says that is a waste of time. Never do it on my Tikkas and they print large single hole groups like Wind Gypsy posted. All rifle companies put out lemons, but...

    Tikka vs Bergara

Just say no to Bergarbage. Ironically, a lemon Bergara that they wouldn't stand behind for their sub MOA "gurantee" is what drove me to buy my first Tikka. 6 Tikkas later and I'm loving the drama-free Tikka lifestyle. Plenty of others with experiences similar to mine here...

    Suppressor

I would not get one again. It's...serviceable and better than nothing, but for the money I wish I would have bought an OCL Hydrogen K, maybe even in 6.5 caliber.

Cabelas Euro HD (Meopta Meostar) vs Sig Zulu6 HDX IS

I hunt with my buddy that uses all Swaro glass (New 14 NL's, EL Range and big BTX setup). It's a toss up who spots more animals faster. I'm running the 16x HDX Sigs and also Sig rangefinding binos. Sometimes Maven 15's on a tripod if I'm going to be sitting a knob for awhile. I used to envy his...

PSA - New Sig Sauer Zulu6 HDX Pro's Are Trash

I have only used the 16x42 HDX, and just purchased the 10x30 HDX so I don't have to fight with my son for them when we're out hunting. I haven't put those through the paces yet, but the 10's are legitimately able to glass from the truck moving from the highway. Not so much on bumpy dirt roads...

    Caldwell Velociradar

+1 for "calculated BC's" being nearly worthless compared to ponying up for Applied Ballistics custom curves. Here's my rationale: You can always just use muzzle velocity and measured drop out to distance to fit your BC to empirical data. You should be doing this anyway. I'd trust measured...

    muzzleloader brake

Sorry to hear that - I had always heard great things about Arrowhead. Mine definitely went on easy peasy.

Final price bump. Edit - sold pending funds.

    muzzleloader brake

My LRX was great with a brake from arrowhead. It was bored over since some of the brakes were too tight and interfered with the bullet to my understanding.

    Magdalena Chili

In NM we serve chile. You go to Texas for chilli, chili, chilley or whatever the heck the rest of you are talking about. If I was a moderator here confusing the two is an instant ban.

    Christensen Arms, what's the verdict?

"Proper" rifle break-in is largely a myth and will not impact the accuracy of a rifle. My guess is that most CA rifles shoot fine, but a LARGE percentage of them of lemons (with respect to other manufacturers).

PSA - New Sig Sauer Zulu6 HDX Pro's Are Trash

I'm a man of principal that dies on the smallest of hills. My hatred of these binos doesn't come close to my hatred of Bergara or Fierce rifles though :ROFLMAO: But seriously, if anyone searches my post history they'll see me singing high praises of the 2nd gen Zulu6 HDX - just trying to help...

PSA - New Sig Sauer Zulu6 HDX Pro's Are Trash

Did you actually test them side by side at a far field target? The 16 pros I have right now are easily the worst of the 3 pro models I have in my possession. Given the difference in quality between the 18’s perhaps you got a good pair of 16x50’s. I’d love for others to post up comparison images.
