Congratulations to them. I grew up outside of a small town of 300. We play 9 man football and most of the players play both sides. We have won state 2 times and gone several more. Two things popped into my mind on those dates. Check out the does. There is a likely chance there will still be some rut activity going on.I would plant myself right between the corn and the cedar Bluffs to catch them going back and forth especially if it is nice and cold. -

To me it would make a big difference if it was a large buck or bull. In that case not so much my thing but a doe or cow no problem at all. -

Beef cows and elk during the rut
I don't know if you see them it or not in the picture but there's about 70 elk with these cows. On our place at least they tolerate each other but aren't best buddies. -

If you do a shoulder mount make sure you have enough wall space. I know several people that did a full size shoulder mount on a big Buffalo bull and had no place to put it afterwards.- Dakota79

Buffalo can be tricky with meat care sometimes so depending on how fast they are once it is down later might be better with colder temperatures.- Dakota79

So far so good. We are a little dry but the horn growth looks promising and the numbers seem to be holding their own.
