My twin brother and I try to do something every year for our birthday. He likes warm weather and beaches so when I suggested Greenland, I was shocked when he said yes. I quickly booked the trip and a couple weeks later a good friend also decided to join us. We would be hunting with Karsten Lings and his family who had been highly recommended to us.
The hardest part of this hunt was just getting to and from Greenland. The only way to get to Kangerlussuaq is through Copenhagen. So it takes a day to get to Denmark and then another day to get to Greenland. Same thing coming home, so plan on 4 days travel to get to and from.
When you arrive they get you fitted in your seal skin suits for warmth. These things were amazing! So incredibly warm. Even with the best of gear, we probably would have froze without these.

The first day out was unbelievable. The scenery was breathtaking. Our guide showed us where he had shot a polar bear a couple years ago. We saw caribou right off the bat and a couple hours into our ride we saw our first group of muskox.

After several hours and looking over probably 100 or more muskoxen we found a herd with two good bulls. My brother and I were both able to make good shots and had our bulls down.

Later that day, our buddy also took a very nice bull. With our bulls taken care of, the next day we spent hunting ptarmigan and arctic hare. We also went and checked out one of the many glaciers in the area.
