I have a couple moose roast in the freezer that somebody gave to me. I've never had moose before but heard it is very good and I'm looking for suggestions of what to do with the roast so I don't mess them up.

You're welcome.
I prefer it with rice over potatoes but yeah good stuff.

You could also corn one.

Slow cooker. Moose is very lean. I toss an abundance of onion & garlic into the cooker. Lookup "Gochujang beef Slow cooker" So tasty.

Eat it! I'v never made it with moose, but I'd do whatever you'd do with beef, just add more fat. Either way, should be delicious!

I found my moose to be pretty tough when I ate it as a roast. My parents pressure cooked theirs to MR and still thought it was too tough. They ended up chopping it up in a food processor with onions and garlic and mushrooms and ate it in gravy over mashed potatoes. I thawed the rest of my roasts out and cut them into steaks, cubed steaks, and stew meat. I use a jaccard tenderizer on the steaks, or just stab the hell out of them with a fork, and grill them. Much more satisfying, especially with what I share.
