Hello, I hunted the high country in Nevada this October. We packed in several miles. My buck was 28" and my buddy's was 30" so I have to sneak in one of his pics.
I see those H-snow cocks every time i hunt the ruby's, but i alway have a deer rifle. One year i'll have to make a bird only trip.
They sure make a sweet mount.
Well I didnt see as many deer this time in Nevada due to the hot weather and the full moon. I managed to get a one shot kill on a four point at 520yds, Its a good thing I practiced long shots all summer with my 300wsm.
I practiced with a load i made last spring for my Tikka 300wsm using RL#17. It was winchester brass, winchester mag LR primer, 67gr #17 and 180gr accubond. Its chrono speed was 3150fps and shot nicly out to 500yds. I had no problem smashing a good buck at 520yds in Nevada this year.
Well it was foggy so my son and I decited to head to the foothills to get some sun and dinner. The quail were educated and not holding to tight but we had a ton of fun.
