DAMN!! Thats too bad about your moose meat! I think I'd break down and cry like a girl if I lost that much primo meat!
By the way if you want the title its gotta be 7 minutes all at once!!(your wife can thank me later!)
Chris
Hey Moosie, I thought you went up to Alaska for your moose? No luck? As far as "the seven minute moose"....if you ever last 7 minutes, the title is yours!!
Later

Sorry, no good story for you on this one! Went to a good area I know, headed in at daybreak, found three moose...
Thanks for the info! Do you know if that spyder has packages to upgrade as they outgrow the short draw and light poundage? I know for $100cnd you can upgrade the limbs and cams on the Tom Thumb 4 times before they will outgrow them completely. The ideal thing would be if I could find a used tom...
Anyone have a used Tom Thumb, or PSE Spyder S4 that they are looking to get rid of?? I am looking for a couple bows for my kids. Specifically one of the 2 mentioned above with the 10# limbs and the 16" draw.
If you have one or know where I could find a good used one feel free to E-mail me at...
Anyone know anything about these new High Country "Speed Pro Select" shafts? They are 5.5 grns/inch and advertised as the highest spine/weight ratio currently available. Anyone have any experience with them?? Or have you heard anything about them?
Thanks
Chris
Anaconda, I have shot the Patriot Dually, the Black Knight Dually, and the Extreme VFT. I've never been a big fan of dually's so take that into acoount when I say I would gladly give up the little speed difference between the 2 dually's mentioned for that sweet shooting VFT!! The draw is silky...
Ok... heres the deal, my wife is anxiously awaiting a new Bowtech Extreme VFT. I am trying to find an arrow that will be correctly spined and still get close to 5grns/per pound. The problem is her draw length, she shoots 29" draw. She will be shooting 45#, her current arrows are 28 3/4" from end...
PC Mech, It's open here...bow or rifle, but I'm sure its probably different in the different states and provinces. As far as trichinosis, yeah it can be a concern.
Most everyone I know makes sausage, jerky, hams etc. The problem with that is that smoking does not reach a high enough temperature...
PCMechanic... I've never noticed the spring bears to be any nastier to deal with. If your gonna make hams and sausage etc, the spring bear is the way to go, they are eating mostly grass and you don't have the large amounts of fat you have in the fall. That being said, you need to give em a few...
Washington Hunter, I had the same problem with my 270 and any style of winchester factory ammo. I was getting 10" groups at 100yds with the winchester supreme failsafe's. I too blamed it on the scope, so I bought a new scope and had the same result. Went and bought a box of Fed Premium nosler...
OH... also PC, could you please look up a max load for IMR 4350 with that 150 grn partition, and the muzzle velocity at that loading?
Thanks very much!
Chris
Hey Washington hunter, and PC mechanic. I'm trying to decide on a load for my 270. I'm going to go with the 150 grn moly coated partition gold bullets. I was thinking about 58 grn of H 4831, but reading above I'm not so sure now. Have you been using that load a long time Wash Hunter?? Any...
Anyone tried this new hornady SST? I am thinking about using it in the 150 grn for my .270, any thoughts on this bullet?? It looks good as far as trajectory, and long range accuracy, but I'm wondering how well it will penetrate on larger game like moose.
Thanks
Chris
Spot and stalk only...no baiting allowed here in B.C., I think spot and stalk would be very very tough in areas of low bear density. Its fairly easy here because you will see a ton of bears and can blow stalk after stalk and still get your bear...I can personally vouch for that!!LOL!!
Chris
Spring bear season they are obviuosly my main and only objective(only thing open!!LOL)
In the fall they are just a target of opportunity...but only if I am out with my bow!
Chris
Take the Bow! Black bear and moose are not that hard to get up close on. I've never hunted bou, but from everything I've heard they aren't that hard to get close to either. If you dad's gonna be close at hand with the 300 you can always salvage a blown stalk by trading with him real quick! If...
Well, thanks again for all the great tips! I'll give you an update on my progress;
I went to a 125grn tip to soften up the spine some, and it seem to make a big difference. Also canting my bow to the right. These two things seem to have me hitting in the center of the bag. I am still sighting...
Thanks for the tips! Do you think a carbon express 400 with a 100grain head would work well?? Also any idea why I'm so far to the left? I have been anchoring to the corner of my mouth and actually sighting off the tip of the arrow.
Thanks again
Chris
