I was a senior in HS. I was in US Government class and had just finished reading Band of Brothers that morning after my normal morning run. I knew after seeing that second plane hit the building we were going to be at war with somebody and I wanted in from that moment on.
A kimber stainless 1911 in 10mm with adjustable sights.
A model 70 featherweight stainless in 06 or 270 with a nice featherweight pattern McMillan edge on it.
A useful, but classy looking 20ga O/U. I’m not sure of what make I want and refuse to spend a fortune on it but I will know the gun...
It’s important to me. I carry one all the time and I don’t care who thinks that I’m paranoid. I keep one in a biometric safe next to the bed and have my preferred CC weapon in the safe when not on me. I have a Taurus 22 revolver that I occasionally squirrel hunt with also.
I started shooting a 7mm mag at 15. I loved the way it folded up critters. I say get em the mag. They will grow into it. I currently have a 7-08 and Linda feel like hypocrite saying that but I don’t hunt elk either.
I’m going with the 150 TSX in my 300WSM this year due to time and components that are available. But hopefully by next year I can work up something from the Hammer line.
I had that on my 06 for awhile, that shop makes quality stuff seems like. Did you get the receiver length or the longer one? I eventually went to a pair of talleys.

I have the same rifle. My bolt is super sticky also. I’m hoping it loosens up a touch. A friend loaded me up some 150gr Barnes TSX’s and we found a charge that shot pretty good. I may have to go the hammer route.
I’ve got a few deer rifles that I will never part with but I’m considering a new one. I would love another superlite but in 7-08 and mount it in an edge fill McMillan and put a vx3 2.5-8 on it.
Years ago before leaving for my first deployment, everyone in my family was giving me all kinds of advice and telling me how much they would miss me, etc. My great uncle pulled me aside at a cookout, and whispered, “give them hell son.”
From the show Parks & Recreation, Ron Swanson: “never...
I’ve got the same binos. Mine have always rode in an FHF. I see no reason to change. I don’t even really need a chest harness for most of my eastern hunting but wear it for the protection of the binos themselves.
