DKO, Hmmmm, makes me wonder if I should go back to my old standby Easton xx75's, considering the price Im paying for carbons. Thanks for the report.
DKO, I think you hit it right on the head. Success is different among different hunters. To me it is what you make out of the experience. I just love to hunt and be in the field.
I was watching a bowhunting video I rented called "Lethal Flight". In this video the guy shot a brown bear with his bow. Ran right up at it and shot it in the eye dropping it in his tracks. What a crazy sob, but what a rush I bet the guy had. Gavve me one watching it.
I want to start building and repairing my own arrows. Considering the cost, especialy of the carbons I like, it would save money but also I think would be fun. Anyone have any suggestions or books available on how-to? Any help much appreciated.

I am going Turkey hunting for the first time this year. If I get lucky and everything else works out right, what is the best way to clean and handle the bird? May sound funny, but Im a big game hunter and only birds Ive shot have been grouse, chukars and quail which I just skin out the breasts...
I probably would shoot the bull if it was 390 or better, but its hard to say for sure sitting here behind this desk. I probably would just fall apart. and blow the whole deal with 2 large trophies to choose from. Tough one.

Well here is my .02. My son 2 years ago drew a one day youth hunt on a private land area. It was his first deer hunt. I would not want to even be tempted to ruin his first hunt by harvesting the animal for him. He made a clean one shot kill at 225 yards. He was twelve at the time. I was never...
I always have at least one extra rifle with us (me and my wife and boy) when we go hunting. I have to 30-06's that are identical, one is the wifes.
On my trip to Wyoming this fall I'm bringing a 25-06 for me and a 270 for my boy with one of the 30-06's for backup purposes. Maybe my...
