    Idaho Resident Tag Question

Thanks, That is what I thought, but just double checking. I imagine if I get the job, I won't make the 6 month residency wait before the season starts. Usually takes a while to get everything through on the HR side. But it will be a good reason to burn all my NV resident points.

    Idaho Resident Tag Question

Hey folks, I just an interview for job in Southern Idaho. It's in an area I worked as a climbing ranger before. My question is do residents buy a OTC elk tag with a specific zone just like non-residents, or is the resident tag statewide?

Oregon OTC Elk Non Resident Question

Hey Folks, I'm reading about OTC tags, and I'm slightly confused. Are most eastern Oregon (Rocky Mtn) archery elk tags OTC for residents? But then some units are limited entry? My wife and I might be moving to Reno for jobs. I have pack llamas and I'm an opportunity meat hunter kind of guy...

    Bigger Pie Brainstorm

These two are really cool, I came from the rock climbing world, and most users would be really stoked for a backpack tax, but they would also want to see that money go into more access for them to more places (better maintained or paved roads or cars and sprinter vans). I hear it all the time...

    Bigger Pie Brainstorm

I've heard Randy talk about the making the pie bigger in terms of conservation, rather than complaining about increasing usage. Just curious if folks could pick 4 bigger pie ideas to see come true, what would they be? I'm thinking no unrealistic ones like depopulate the rockies, but something...

Disregard, just found the answer and not sure how to delete the post. Preference Point Reminder: Unsuccessful applicants will not automatically be given a preference point if unsuccessful in the draw. You must purchase a point during the point only time frame, which is July 1 to Nov. 1, 2021.

First Time Wyoming application points question

Hey folks, My friend in WY suggested I might need to select an option to buy a point if I don't get picked in the draw, but I wasn't seeing that as an option. Do I need to select the option to buy a point, or does my elk tag full price application do that for me? Best,

    AZ Rut Timing

I've heard that rut activity in Arizona moves north to south based on monsoon rains, earlier to later. Any advice or input on that timing with this years dry weather? I'm picking up my OTC archery tag for January and hopefully every year after as I live in S Nevada. I've also got a...

When does arizona post leftover spring javelina tags 2021

Thanks I've scouted the 15s and 16a north a little. I was wondering about the Wilderness area in 18b. Seemed to have a road through the middle, didn't know if it was worth a little pack trip. Partly just for the fun of a trip. I just got my llamas in Sept and have only done one elk hunt...

Dog owners- what do you do during elk camp?

Take mine scouting, with an e-collar. She listens well, will stay put while I peak over ridges etc... However, she is visibly shaking in anticipation the whole time. She also can pound out a 10-12 mile mountain bike ride no problem. She's a pit bull/ mix thing and has a high prey drive for...

    Nevada Unit 162 roads

Hey folks, I drew a cow wilderness only for 162. Scouted it a bit already, usually I hunt archery cow tags but this is a new unit for me. Anyone know the roads well that would let me pick their brain? I've scouted the west side some but want to hit up the east side. I'll likely be bringing...
