    Nope. Didn't play that game.

Best 30 caliber bullet for a grizzly?

@deerhunter24 - Two years later....OP has been on his hunt, filled his tag, AND replied to the thread.....nice job, @Pahoundsman!

    Ryan Busse is a coward

They are probably oxygen depleted and very cold and stiff at this point, unfortunately. Would like to see a different outcome, obviously, but the odds are not looking great. There will likely be a follow-up search party. At some point it turns from search and rescue to search and recovery...

Michigan’s Isle Royale wolves: 4 new litters of pups, odd wolf pack dynamics

What a colossal waste of money. "The 20-year cost of reintroducing wolves and monitoring them should be about $2 million." Having an annual moose hunt, with a drawing, and tags, or even some of the tags going to a lottery system - could have been a significant money making endeavor.

    Ryan Busse is a coward

I scanned the first three posts on this thread a couple of days ago, and - without even knowing who Ryan Busse is - said "yup, train wreck" - and now, checking back in 33 pages later, sure enough.....skipping the 32 pages in between, have not missed anything it appears. Hope everyone is having...

WARNING: Student Load Forgiveness is Very Unlikely to Pay for Your Next Elk Tag

What? I do not have any student loans, and I wasn't counting on anyone to pay for my elk tag. If I am fortunate enough to draw an elk tag, I will pay for it with my money.

    Wyoming… I’m in a pickle

Isn't this always the case? Waiting until one day before the application period to consider these aspects of the hunt? I'd just go, but it appears you aren't ready, feel you aren't ready, or are just making excuses. Let's see what you've written so far: "My main hang up is to dump the...

    48 Years of Memories...

Very nice! Your generation had it easier when it came to drawing tags over those years (point creep, tag allotments, number of hunters have changed quite a bit), but definitely had it harder when it came to gear (clothing, GPS/navigation, mapping, etc.) and transportation. Thanks for sharing!

    Trading Card Collecting Nerds, Unite!

I collected baseball cards for a few years as a kid. Left them stored in my parents house during high school and college before graduating and then moving them into my house. I actually pulled them out of the attic the other day with a plan to get them graded and sell online. (They aren't...

    Bow Kill On Video

Great video. Takes me back to some of my memories and experiences in the backcountry. It's very interesting how some days can feel like an eternal struggle, while other moments like the one captured in this video everything just goes perfectly. Those moments are an adrenaline-filled...

Most Useful Thing You’ve Learned on HuntTalk

I was very fortunate to draw a NM elk tag several years ago. Through HT, I got connected with a local fellow and we ended up talking for a couple of hours on the phone one evening. He was exceptionally helpful. I don't post very often, but I have to say @hank4elk is the real deal. :)

    What's On Your Phone?

The background of my phone is a picture of a deer I shot with my bow. That's nice.

I am glad that I burned my preference points in WY. Great hunt, happy to be out of the points system. Let someone else have a memorable hunt!
