Football General Talk

I know that was a beat up Saints team but the Packers have been 🔥 since the loss to the lions! Something finally clicked and they have been playing complete games!
It was the saints, but the defensive line progression thru the season from what I've seen has changed the game for them on that side of the ball. The saints crap line just gave them even more confidence moving forward.

Chiefs still haven’t scored more than 29 for the season, yet have clinched home field for the duration of the playoffs.

Should they wish to, they could give players (Chris Jones, PMahommie, or other folks) 20ish days of rest before their first playoff game.

This is why I think buffalo should shut it down to an extent also. Not all the way but just turn the volume down a bit. I really don't care if they are the 2 or 3 seed.

I’m not a big fan of resting or sitting out preseason games if a player is not injured. I understand the theory but I believe there is no better preparation than real game scenarios. You can see the rust when players return from taking a week off.

Agreed double edged sword...im talking all injury designation guys. Let em get back towards 100 percent.

CD out for the season. Adjust those FF lineups accordingly.
I kinda figured with the $ riding on him and the recent injury while on an eliminated team.

That said:

I'm curious if there are backroom deals for eliminated teams playing those in the bubble to maybe, not let "X" star player in as many plays.

For instance maybe, for sake of "ensuring less potential for injury" Cowboys place Parsons in on half the snaps as the Eagles hope to clinch a playoff position.

Seems too many people would have to know thus a leak is probable - at the same time... Things that whirl a couch potato NFL mind.

I like to believe a professional athlete wants to win at all costs no matter the situation. When you start sandbagging, playing “not to lose” or maybe to lose if you are trying to get a higher draft pick your likelyhood for injuries are going to go up playing a team with players who are going 100% all the time every play.
