I haven’t really had this happen while hunting but when scouting especially in the summer for areas close to home I’ve had close calls with recreational shooters. I park my truck and hike off the road into the woods only to have someone parked near me shooting blindly down the hill I just hiked...
If you work hard and scout it’s possible. Drew back on two 6x6 bulls up there this year missing one of them. Saw other bulls and cows but never got close.
If your hunting units with limited public land where all the pressure is in concentrated areas expect to see people forget about backstops and shoot a pronghorn between them and other hunters.
I hunted elk on my on for the first time during archery season in Colorado this year. With the heat I couldn’t get anything to bugle so I spent my time hunting timber. I would just slowly follow game trails I find or walk through known bedding areas hoping to run into elk. I learned you can make...
Everyone from the Denver/Boulder areas who’s only knowledge of wolves is Yellowstone documentaries thinking we need to bring them back. Better allow hunting of them quickly.
I still don't see why hunters hate on each other so much. Every time someone grows in the hunting industry people want to beat them down. Not saying the Bowmars did or didn't do anything illegal, but so far it seems you cant prove either way 100%.
I’ve shot a few deer in Texas under feeders but all does. Having been doing spot and stock for a few years now feeders are not my top choice for hunting. However, I would like to to try growing food plots in Kansas as the work involved with planting and maintains them makes the deer more earned...
As we were packing out we saw an atv parked right at the trail we took from the road to the park. They said they walked up that direction early so my guess is we were set up before them and they pushed them to us.
A little back story to this hunt, my family and I moved to Colorado a few years ago and allowed for my father and I to have access to a lot more hunting opportunities. In 3 short years we have have harvested half a dozen animals, but I have always been the first shooter or the only one with a...
I have had great success with caribou game bags. I have used the same set of mule meat on the bones for a bighorn sheep, deer, and two antelope. Easy to clean after use and throw back into the bag for the next hunt.
I have which gave a little info, but it mainly just said limited opportunity with majority of deer being found on private. I looked at Gohunt as well but it was similar to Game and Fish having more info for mule deer than whitetail.
