Wyoming > Hicks at it again

Crazy the difference from Colorado to Wyoming in the dollar amounts.

    Moose application, Novice bow hunter...

Which I agree with based off the way they allocate the tags.

    Moose application, Novice bow hunter...

The first time I looked at the draw statistics on CPW website I was a bit confused why they put all the draw codes on the same page. It took some reading and research but figured out that CPW does not split the tags up by manner of take on Moose. The reason why, I still have not figured out...

Arizona Draw Odds? R v NR apps

GoHunt does show applications and by resident status.

    Hunting, planning, and the economy

Colorado has also cut deer tags since 2007, see below comparison in tag quota vs application. I had to throw 2018 in there to show how much the applications jumped up due to Colorado changing the application pricing.

    Colorado wolves

I didn't believe it when I read that Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP) has 10% more visitors than Yellowstone. The list actually surprised me, I have been to both RMNP and Yellowstone many times, but Yellowstone always seems more crowded than RNMP does. You also posted something out of the...

    That's a chunk of change

CPW is already preparing for the wolves..... I would imagine Colorado will someday see 40-50% decrease in licences revenue once the wolves numbers "established" and there are no more OTC non-resident tags. Not to mention operation costs to manage and pay for livestock damage, but hey, there is...

    Colorado 3rd Season Rifle

That is most of Colorado these days.

Did Colorado Break the Elk Bank This Year?

I 100% agree with your stance on preference points. I have had 2 elk tags every year and not burned a single point. Opportunity to have a tag is important, but opportunity to harvest an animal should be just as important and I too believe that we are beyond the point that we can sustain...

    Always check your turret caps

Same, mine moves pulling it in and out of 4-wheeler scabbard. I realized it before ever shooting, but check them all the time.

    Game Processors-CO Front Range

Valley Packing in La Salle Colorado does a very good job, however, can be a bit pricey depending on what you have done and can take a little while. They like many others in Colorado are slammed that time of year.

    Colorado Mule Deer Unit 18, 28, 37, and 371

Agree with Wllm, busy unit for 2nd season: 81 Either Sex Tags (private only) 925 Doe Tags 1900 Buck Tags OTC Bull Elk for that season along with 485 Cow Tags. Be prepared to run into some people and hunt hard to get away from them.

    CO leftover day

I stood in line at Sportsman's Warehouse, the guy first in line punched his numbers in exactly at 9:00 and there was 9 tags left and all were gone.... I was in online by 9:01 while waiting in line and typed my hunt code that had 40 left and hit validate and there were none left. They sure do go...

    CO draw results

Odds I am not willing to bet on! However, my luck is the system will work just fine, I take work off, go stand in line somewhere and still miss out on the tag I am after.

Any bets on system crashing again this year? Better be at a location to ensure you even get a shot.

Kuiu Attack or Firstlite Obsidian for Sept/Oct Elk

Same here, I bought mine late last summer, wore them 2 weeks in archery, 6 days in rifle elk, 2 days rifle deer and quite a bit so far this summer and they are pilling pretty bad in lower legs and crotch area. Still great pants and they have been worn hard, probably have close to 200 miles in them.

This is what's wrong with hunting.

He was "under the impression he had permission to recover game if it crossed". Don't you think you would want to make certain, not just assume?? Couldn't read the rest of the comment but sounds as though he had permission until antelope season started and something changed. Speak to that in...

    Keep Routt Wild

Not sure if anyone else has seen this, but received the attached letter from Forest Service along with the below response. Here is the link to the project's website: https://www.fs.usda.gov/project/?project=50917 Once on the site, navigate to "Summer 2019 pre-scoping" to find the press...

    Wolves in Colorado (officially soon)

I didn't really think about that, they are still considered endangered species in Colorado and management should fall under USFWS. I don't understand the legal side and what can and cant be done, but if Colorado votes to reintroduce, then CPW is forced to come up with a reintroduction plan, I...

    Wolves in Colorado (officially soon)

Wolves are coming to Colorado one way or another, it is just a matter of how quickly and the method. I don't agree with it, but in the political climate Colorado is in, I am willing to bet it is through the ballot initiative and reintroduction. What scares me is not that wolves are going to...
