Isn't the point of the tip to initiate expansion? As I understand it, the tip on a ttsx is to expand faster than a tsx. The bullet coming apart has to do with the way the rest of the bullet is made. Consequently a varmint bullet nearly blows up and a controlled expansion/bonded bullet holds...
The alpha burleys is what I'd check out. I wear a set of tingleys every day in the farm but it's not something I'd want to hunt in. The burleys will be lighter than a boot and over shoe combo.
The current 7-08 shoots under3/4 but I've never done any experimenting with it. It started out that good during the barrel break in with Hornady whitetail and I never took the time to change. If I do my part it will consistently hit 1/2.
7-08, which I know is more practical. I just always wanted a .284 and let others talk me out of it. So now I have a very expensive gun that I am not satisfied with.
It is a Remington 700 short action. It's a shillen barrel with less than 40 rounds down the barrel. It's a custom job that I originally intended to be a .284 but let myself get talked out of it. I have some money saved up and was trying to get what I originally wanted.
And like I've said...
Not exactly an answer but I as little as possible past the shoulder. For what my expectation is I don't think it will become an issue. Could be wrong though. I could better answer that question when the brass gets shipped.
Curious what you mean by that?
I am assuming you mean COAL in a short action. The mag extension will be more than enough but ejection of a loaded cartridge appears to be the hurdle. It may be I have to shorten some but initial measurements looks like it should be able to eject a loaded...
During my research they do the same for the .284 as well. And a great argument can be made for it too. In my opinion it's not much different than what Hornady did with the creedmore. Shorten the case to allow for longer bullets. With the .284 family they just put in a long action to...
The Mauser case is by far the best to do an improved version in my opinion. That 257ai should be screaming!!
If I was a long range guy I would've done a long action version of this 284 so I could run those super long bullets. But if I get this and can get moa accuracy or better with 140-150...
Good hearing from you!
Yes, you are 150% right. There is no logical reason to do that and you will absolutely die when I tell you it is in fact currently a 7-08.
But........I just really want a .284. Also I am hoping to just reame it out rather than re barrel.
So I have ignored all...
Curious if others are like me, in that I could view any appointment as negative and be correct about them most of the time. I'm meaning Republican, democrat, or whatever. Just assume they'll be terrible and the odds are I'd be right better than 50% of the time.
Winslow, Arizona: such a fine sight to see........The Eagles
On paper not a great choice but who knows. Lots of cabinet spots turn out to be good that initially were a head scratcher. I don't see her as a huge supporter of hunting.
I've done a fair amount of research and am about 95% sure I'm going to pull the trigger on a rebarrel job. I am planning on doing a box extension so that I can get COAL to 2.95 or a bit better. I have also read that there can be feeding issues but am assuming the same gunsmith can fix that as...
Thanks guys
I don't know if I didn't enter the right keywords or if it's just my search engine but I did try looking believe it or not. I found places that sold high end ammo but no development for a specific rifle.
Sounds like Hammer is a place that some on here are very familiar with...
