From a few hours ago. There's been a little bunch of about 75 head out just a few miles west of town on the north side of Highway 2. This is all I could find of them today.
Willow Creek Road.
My backyard on the edge of the Milk River.
Laffin! I was thinking about New Zealand, myself...
Last week I was out hunting coyotes on Willow Creek on the snowshoes. I had a pair spotted out about 1.5 miles in a place where I could stay out of sight for a stalk. The snow had a crust on top maybe 3", under that was heavy "sugar snow" that...
I saw it in the winter of 77' , 78'....90% of the antelope in most of Eastern Montana died that winter.
25* below here this morning. There is 35" of concentrated snow on the level here on the Milk River.
Glad I had the right gear along on this day. It would have been a little tough to guess 964 yards.
BTW, I've shot many 5" groups at 1000 yards with this setup. I knew this buck was dead before I pulled the trigger. There's nothing wrong with "high tech gear", if you spend the time learning how...
5*F right now up here and its been snowing and blowing the last 24 hours. Looks like another 10 to 12 inches. Had 3' drifts in the driveway last night when we got back from Helena. Blizzard conditions all the way from Great Falls to here. Some of the worst I've ever driven through.
Driving back to Glasgow from Malta this afternoon I saw an antelope dead in the borrow pit...it crossed the highway and just powered out trying to get to the other side and died right there..frozen solid without a mark on it. There are thousands of antelope stacked up along highway 2 for about...
Dont even look at NE Montana....we're having an asskicker winter up here. The antelope are really struggling up here and there's plenty of winter left.
I took this from the supercub over a month ago...four or five storms back.
Kurt, John is my boss....I'll have to email him a nice compliment on his comments...
Several years ago we have a signal from a collared wolf in the south end of the Crazies. The Specialist from Springdale had a good telemetry signal late in the afternoon and decided to find him again early the...
Buzz, That field picture is is all time B&C! Really nice light and well composed...Nice job.
When they have that kind of mass and prongs they are instant shooters!
I'm sure we've flown over a bunch of them over the years, just never got my eye on one. Coolest critter I've ever seen from the sky was a wolverine up in North Valley County....that was a treat!
