This is a dangerous and highly flawed philosophical basis for your argument. Money shouldn’t be the sole factor dictating access to resources, opportunity, or power and influence. Last I checked, this isn’t Soviet Russia. But...MOGA is looking more and more like a cartel by the day.
Again, if...
That’s hilarious. A few months back, after she purchased some new Frye boots, I was lamenting to her, in a very sad tone, about how a buddy of mine wanted to go to Montana to hunt bears in the spring and asked me to go, but I told him I couldn’t go. And my wife goes: “why can’t you go?” So I set...
Amen. Someone else posted something a while back about the irony of a bunch of MAGA hat-wearing outfitters lining up with hat in hand, literally, to go in front of the fish and game committee to ask for a govt handout so they can continue making money on an outdated business model in an industry...
I’ve owned a Kuiu and a Kifaru (Reckoning). My comparison is below. Note: I bought my Kuiu Icon 7200 in 2015-16, so I assume they have made some substantive changes to pack design which may have improved its performance. But the bottom line is: you get what you pay for.
Post in thread 'Why my...
I think my dad just bought that exact same rifle. The one he bought came with a cheap scope, in some sort of package deal, and he went out and bought a box of cheap ammo at the gun store....long story short, my father said the gun is a tack driver, even with cheap ammo and poor optics.
Spring turkey in PA
Spring bear in MT

*this is MY list, some of which has not been approved by my wife; therefore, schedule is subject to change without notice.
Couple fairly robust threads below that focus on tents and sleeping bags. There are also a couple on sleeping pads, as well, if you're also in the market for one of those, and even more on packs.
Personally, I run a Big Agnes tent (Fly Creek UL2, ~2 lbs) and bag (Lost Ranger 15...3 lbs?)...
I ordered a pair of Crispi Idaho boots in....2017-18. I have super wide feet, so I’m limited, to some extent, on what brands I can go with. The fit was incredible, they were super comfortable out of the box, but I had to return them because the way the foot box creased when I knelt or squatted...
Having been down the “Montana or Idaho” road, and having talked to some buddies in Montana, I’d pay attention to the rentals price as @ccc23454 mentioned. We were going to fly into Kalispell and rent a truck to save an hour or two of driving, but one of my buddies noted that we’d pay double for...
I’ve found glucosamine/chondroitin helpful, but got tired of paying for it. But I drink turmeric tea and ginger tea, which seem to help (but don’t taste so great), along with eating more berries and fish.
+1 for the 35 Whelen. I have a Rem 7600 pump in 35 Whelen that I primarily use as a brush gun for bear season. Great round that shoots fast (200 gr at ~2700-2800 fps) and is fairly cheap to shoot compared to a magnum.
I think it would be hard for most folks to offer an informed opinion without a little more info, i.e. where you're coming from (driving in or flying in), what kind of hunt you prefer (day hunting, backpack hunt), what kind of terrain or access you're looking for/at, etc. Montana is exclusively...
Actually, Mr Minard did say that. On multiple occasions now, actually. In the radio interview posted by @Ben Lamb, he said outfitted clients are often repeat customers who come back year after year, and that’s why Montana should be trying to incentivize those NRs. And yet in another part of the...
I would strongly encourage everyone to listen to this interview. There are some real gems in it, namely Mr Minard’s claims that SB 143 doesn’t seek to repeal or change I-161, but rather is intended to “build on it.”
