I’m looking for a new fish finder. I really like the Humminbird Helix line and am considering the Helix 7 MEGA but not sure whether to go for a down image or side image.
It’ll be on a 14’ boat so I’m not looking for anything too big but want to be able to find fish a little easier.
I mainly...
Mine is blown up because the wife said on Christmas Day “why don’t you do your mancave you’ve been wanting to do since family isn’t coming in for Christmas”.
They showed up on the 27th… I should have it wrapped up in 2 weeks and I’ll snap pictures
My .54 cal hawkin with a 32” barrel is pretty light. I’ll weigh it and get back with you.
Shorter isn’t always better with black powder. You need some length for efficiency
If you’re a reloader the lever revolution bullets look pretty impressive. I’ve not shot them but the ballistics and expansion look solid
I’m a purist on it. 70 grains of 2F, 405 grain cast bullet and a magnum primer. But that’s not for everyone👍
Congrats on the new rifle
Iffy at best?? Understanding the ballistics and you can be deadly WAAAY beyond 150. I used to shoot black powder cartridge competitively and could consistently hit a pie plate at 500 meters with iron sights.
My first mule deer was taken at 375 with said rifle with a tang sight. He never knew...
I always lap.
1000% not rude but…..
There no way you can bolt things together and have more than 80% contact right out of the box.
Lapping is cheap insurance for accuracy and not marking up your scope.
Besides, pic rails make it more difficult to load rounds when you have gloves on.
I’m 27 years in to it and I wish it were simpler also
Go knock on someone’s door and most likely go hunting. Now it’s leased or people won’t let anyone hunt….
I remember going to the county auditors page and getting platt maps to show property lines and terrain. Now it’s all at my finger...
