We did college spring break diy shark fishing in canoes down there. Fun easy times. Even had some tarpon added on. Highly recommend to try sometime, easy logistics...
Basically all you need is a working truck, canoe and a heavy fishing pole. Sorry to hear about the truck.
Here's something that always confuses me on harvest stats each year that maybe someone can explain or tell me I'm wrong. I'm not a turkey hunter. Turkey harvest stats indicate Lake County to be one of the far best counties in the state for harvest, despite its size. Turkey distribution map...
I'll second that the best photos I get are Ollin digiscoping and in a video setting where I don't touch the phone or the tripod/spotter. Just screenshot the video after the fact. With Vortex Razor gen1.
This was over a mile, video allowed me to see multiple angles clearly as he turned his head...
This will go against alot of people. I have no interest in turkey slam. Chasing turkeys seem similar everywhere and some species are very difficult to obtain tag or need private land guide. Also too expensive for a big bird.
I've gotten 4 surveys in 7 years as a resident. 2 were for the only 2 times I burned points, the third was a 1st rifle elk with only about 10 resident tags out of 100 bull tags and the 4th was a bear tag I never had time to hunt and responded as did not hunt. All three I filled the tags.
Cpw...
Where as I see how burning points for any tag would alleviate pp climb in colorado I think it would increase pressure to other states. I don't hate the idea of using points for all A tags.
Me as a resident personally if they did burn points for all tags I'd leave the state to one of those...
Resident only. Guess I'll still keep my app strategy out of Nevada. Would have been fun to say I shot a moose in Nevada before drawing colorado res tag. Dream was fun while it lasted.
I don't really like any of that. I thought I had made that clear to hem last time I commented but I'll do it again I guess.
Aug deer does sound fun, but I see higher risk of hunter/vacationer conflicts.
If they do all of that I am concerned it'll push game even more to private land.
ALL of...
Never had issues with my leupold vx5s. I prefer Leupold personally.
Have also had to return a vortex viper gen1 pst right before an alaska trip, wouldn't hold its focus after owning it for 7 years
Usually more around the 60 minute mark. It's a bit, but that's when you start to see what's breaking down. I pay attention to my knee tracking and see if it's lungs or legs or back that's my weak spot.
Not sure how many crossfitters we have on the forum, I regularly do the "chad" workout which is timed 1000 24" box step ups with a 45lb ruck.
This is a bench mark workout for me to check my hunting season ability and pain tolerance. I also have a knee that's bordering on bad from getting run...
It's very disappointing to me that I got a little wrapped up on the score, I almost didn't shoot. I got to see him rutting cows, bugling, fighting and doing everything a herd bull does. That bull gave me the possibly the coolest experience of a life that has been full of experiences.
I will say as a self taught hunter that 260s bull taught me alot. Glassing from over a mile in thermal heat waves can make that elk look like 350s at time and at other angles the antlers just about disappeared. Because of that I probably could have guessed the mass wasn't very much.
Since then...
Probably should have spent more time like the OP before this year. Watched last year's bull for a few scouting weekends from over a mile away. Opening day at 100 yards realized he wasn't as big as I thought...
Thin beams really make them look longer!

I did regular last year. But this year I'm going to get lucky and draw all my other tags and have a busy fall! So it'll just be points. I can just feel finally getting tag draw luck. Haha
I never know my wyo deer and pronghorn plan till the other results come in. But 1200 gamble is too steep...
Did more digging on seeth's comment. Correct, finally found it. Despite the regulatory year being July 1-june 30 for harvest tickets. License and locking tag valid calendar year only. I'd delete this post if possible, oops. Thanks!
The whole don't fill all your bear tickets in fall in order to...
