There is something that seriously needs to be revamped in the draw system. Bonus points are a joke.
Sorry if I'm cring foul here but 14 points and I have been drawing before the bonus points were even around. Now we have a system where everyone can apply because it's cheap to apply $10.
I know...
You have a couple of options ar plate or T1 or if you know someone who works around heavy equipment get a used corner bit from a dozer or loader etc. most used ones will be at least 3/4 of an inch.
Use to bre able to get quadrangle maps from sporting good stores or something like REI. Not sure if you can get maps from a local forest service district or BLM office or not.
There are four basic calibers which all guns have been altered or improved on 22,25,27 and 30 caliber but it all comes down to your personal preference for one and which one has the most available ammo. If I were choose the one for huntalk it would be a 30 caliber, but my preference is 27 caliber.
Hands down if I had the $$$$ this man would build my rifle. My son has a 7mag he built that is without a doubt the most accurate 7mag I've seen.

This reminds me of the late cow elk I got in the damage hunt. The land owner was watching us. I shot the cow and by the time he road his quad up to the elk, about two minutes it was gutted. Notice he only takes a straight on shot. It's easy to keep a knife sharp if it's sharp to start with.
MtGunner I commend you on not killing the rattle snake kudos to you.
As kid growing up rattle snakes were to killed on sight because they were dangerous. As I have got older and realized snakes to benefit us in ways we never give a thought to why? If you think about the diseases rodents carry...
The only reason to cut the throat is for more ease of pulling the heart and lungs out when gutting an animal. By the time you get to an animal they will not have enough blood pressure to pump the any left over blood in their system out, so cutting the main arteries is basically a waste of time...
Yep that's our National Park Zoo.
If this was any where else someone would have got hurt or killed by mama bear but being these park animals are habituated to people their a little more tolerant of tourons.
Mtmuley im not sure if you confront those who violate off road use or just report them. In this day and age it would be wise to just report them with a vehicle id and or license number. I'm not telling you what to do but your loved ones would rather see you come home alive. The risk of a...
First leave the gate as you found it, or what ever the crime scene is. Second report the incident of the open gate to FS and FWP.
Is the gate closed year around or seasonal like December 1 to May 15th. Was there fresh tracks from an atv or truck.
I think if FS or some other person with...
I think it has always been a big slap the hunters face with bison management. It seems the DOL dictates management and the tribes can have what they want. It should be equal for all no exceptions but that's to late. Hec lets just let bison be free ranging and solve the debate.
Nothing like spring time in the Rockies we had the same snow and I shot grade in the snow storm the whole day,. You either with with or leave! The snow this time of year is melted in a day. We could have snow days with the right storm into July here in the high country.
Although I never served I know what's going through your mind, because my neibor was in Vietnam and I talked him down several times.
I to have had some rough times but always turned a negative into a positive by helping others. I have found it makes me smile by doing something my dad would have...
More to fuel the anti trapping, the article reminds of Toby's.
The ex-houndsman should like this http://www.mountainlion.org/newsstory.asp?news_id=1611
There something that's not right with this whole story or unintentional trapping.
First off FWP should not have allowed any published article until the investigation was done.
The reporter Perry Backus waits and hunts for situations like this to fuel the fire for anti trapping.
