Ended my NC spring turkey season in a strange way last Sunday

Did he say whether or not it could be spread to other turkeys? I'd hate to see that spread around here! But, thanks for taking him out of his misery and calling the biologist!

    Montana elk/deer permit help

I'm a 25 year old female in the military and back from deployment and haven't had time to scout much. Can someone help me? Side note: before anyone gets offended because I referred to the military seeking help, both my kids, including my 25 year old daughter, are in the military. I THINK that...

    Socks?

As mentioned above, Merino wool socks. As also mentioned, alot of foot care above just good socks. I also tape the back of my heals. I can't remember the kind right now, but someone may chime in and name it. You'll catch yourself buying Merino everything before it's over, and then wearing...

Don't leave your carcasses in the campground

It's sad that they have to do that, but I'm not one bit surprised, and also surprised that there are still places to camp with so many idiots abusing them. And, I wouldn't be surprised if the pit toilet that you mentioned doesn't have a sign beside it asking everyone to remember to wipe their...

Anyone have their camp robbed while in the field for the day?

I know that, and you know that, but no one has ever accused a crook of thinking things all the way through! Bad part is, they know we have weapons, but they also figure that we obey the law and won't shoot for stealing property if our life isn't in danger. Note to thief:. If my shelter and/or...

Anyone have their camp robbed while in the field for the day?

I don't have the mindset of a thief, but I definitely don't have the balls to do something like take someone's stuff that I know will have some sort of weapon out in the middle of nowhere! They have to know that if they were to are caught, there's a good chance they won't make it back out...

Anyone have their camp robbed while in the field for the day?

Same here! I was hunting in Ohio (not camping), and when we get back to the truck, the guys truck parked beside of ours had the glass broken out and some items missing. Our truck wasn't touched. I was kinda offended by how inconsiderate the theives were to turn their nose up at our stuff!

30 years old, dreamin of big horns...what options?

I'm no sheep draw odds expect, but I've been married for 30 years. Saying that to say, after reading the comments above, your greatest odds challenge isn't going to be drawing a sheep tag. Your greatest challenge is going to be, mentioning to soon to be wife that you have a solid plan of...

Ft Jackson, SC. What to see?

In my opinion, you're going to have to drive at least two hours from there to see anything worth seeing. Columbia isn't much to look at. Charleston will probably be your best bet if you want some good food (i.e. shrimp and grits), or see alot of history. Charlotte is north of there, but it's...
