I took last week off work to chase birds around the Mark Twain National Forest in Missouri. Not quite the usual territory for this forum, but I figured I should stop lurking, and public land hunting would be welcome.
On day 3, somewhere around mile 12 on foot, I got on a bird and connected. It's only been jakes for me until this one, and I couldn't be happier with this bird.
1.25" spurs
9" beard.
After the photo session and a quick breakfast (PB&J), I followed up the hunt with a nap and a couple quick casts for wild trout.
I think I might have to make this a tradition.
