I think a lot of people associate a big rack with an old deer and that just isn’t the case. Which is more the point I was trying to make. I shot a buck couple year back when I got down to it I was disappointed in how young he was. He had decent enough hardware but had I realized he was that...

Depending on what you wanna spend I’d highly recommend New Mexico jump in the outfitter draw pool and you got pretty decent odds. I’ve only hired one guide we drew tags and decided to go that route I made 3-4 phone calls choice was easy after that

If you wanted to hunt Wyoming next year I’d be concerned about an outfitter that can get you booked that quick.

First thing I would do is pick a state and a style. Then I’d start looking from there. If you wanna archery hunt rolling hills why waste time looking at guys with horses and late season hunting.

    Never Ending Challenge of Access

From my understanding it can go either depending on what the landowner wants. If they don’t want people on their ranch tags only good for their ranch. If they open it up for public hunting their tag is good unit wide. Seems like pretty decent incentive to me.

    Never Ending Challenge of Access

New Mexico has 2 different types of land owner tags. One is only for the land a rancher owns the other is for the entire unit. If they enroll in a program such as our bma they get the unit wide tag.

We live on wild game at my house. My wife isn’t to impressed right now that other adventures kept me from putting an elk in the freezer this year. She eats game meat out of the freezer if I’m home or not. Rutted mule deer at any age doesn’t interest her not all wild game is the same. If I...
