Like so many of you, fall is my favorite time of the year. From the cooler weather, providing relief from hot summers, to the changing colors on the mountain, and of course, the bugle of bull elk. After many years of "unsuccessful" emails, I was able to draw an early rifle tag. With tag in hand...
The bull was bugling like crazy, pushing his cows out in a meadow at first light. I snuck in silently and killed him at 117 yards. Early rifle hunt - 6.5 PRC 156 EOL.
One of those situations that was almost too good to be true!
