I had quite a few before this last weekend! (grin) We sold out but have a New batch coming in on Wednesday! That last several orders have all been the clear latex, I'm fairly positive the red latex was done away with all together! Thanks!
p.s. have you tied the Mistress? Awesome reed, it's...
If you're talking less than a foot of snow then chances are they are not far from that area in Sept. if they survive! Should be able to Glass them up or get them respond to a Location Bugle if in thicker timber in Sept! Being public land it's a crap shoot that they are not pushed around a bit...
The Mellow Yellow is one of the softest latex single reeds out there that is very user friendly! With the proper instruction & right size reed you will be able to conqueror mouth reed use! I'm sure there are others but this one will rate right at the top.
PM me your name & address & I'll send...
The 8th through the 15th are solid dates for sure! I think a lot of it is when guys have the time to hunt hard as to when their best dates are. My son & I have the privilege of living in elk country so are able to hit the woods at will. For us we rarely get real serious until the bulls cow up...
I'd do my best to take all 14 days, if not humanly possible then consider the last week as Idahoarcheryhunter mentions! Here's some info to consider that I use in known areas & New Areas, it's golden in finding, hunting & killing elk!

Nice! In reality there's really no reason to trim a reed. Once it is chewed & made pliable you will see that it will form to any part of your mouth. Being against your side teeth is completely normal. It's something we all had to get used to in the beginning stages of learning mouth reed use...
I realize this is a lot of info but worth the read for newer users!
When choosing a mouth reed which is best for us? Reeds come in 1/2" & 5/8" models, many hunters are unaware of this. Most hunters need a 1/2" reed to fit them best. This means if you have a normal size to narrow palate...
It sounds like you may need a better setup? You're getting bulls to respond just fine & having them come your way regardless of the hunting pressure. If you can see out to 80 yards+ as in your description then you are asking for a hang-up. It is common for elk to come to the source of the...
Know yourself & your weapon of choice well, you must be accurate & confident in it, there's a good chance you will only get one shot, make it count! Practice, practice, practice with it!

Tracking a wounded elk after or during rains or snows is very doable! Blood stains things such as rocks, branches & logs an elk may leave blood on, it does not easily wash off. It does not stain leaves or dirt as rains can really dilute those two things. A well hit elk that is bleeding can be...
