Neither one of my parents are bad cooks but they are not good cooks. The dishes that really stand out in my childhood is a chum salmon casserole that would make every tuna casserole shine like the sun. And the pea soup that my mom made in which she mistook the measurement of salt from...
You also have to purge the crawdads with clean water. After a couple of rinses all of the dirt comes off of them. I didnt do this my first time trying a boil and you could taste it. I prefer just corn, small red whole potatoes and some local sausage. Zatarain is a good seasoning but I like...
I have the mr mule and it is a great day pack. You can easily haul game quarters or sheds with that pack. It will hold everything you need to be gone from the campsite all day as well. If you want a more versatile backpack for overnight trips I would get a different pack or buy a larger bag for...
I have the MR Mule, which is smaller and lighter. You can only use this pack at for day hunting, possible for extended outings if you pack your sleeping gear in the meat shelf. The bag is big enough to carry everything I need to be out all day ie- kill kit, puffy, spotter/15s, tripod, food...
I love the square body Chevy, I had an 85' with the 350 and granny low four speed. Still mad I sold it. I keep passing one on the way to work that doesn't move, I need to make on offer on it. How was that 6.2? Only heard bad things about em. Sorry to derail this thread. Just get a 7mm-08 and...
I bought my wife an 7mm-08 in the Savage lwh and loaded with 140 accubonds and RL17. Pretty accurate combination. She enjoys shooting the rifle and she grew up shooting a .280 remington, so this has less recoil even on a lighter platform.
I have lived in AZ and hunt there every year. I have hunted 33 in Nov, Dec and Jan and never ran into any snakes. I have ran across some rattlers in the Oct hunts in other units but they are not as common as you would think.
My foodsaver works great for packaging up meat I buy in bulk from costco but overheats too quickly when packaging a game animal. My wife bought me a cabela's professional vacuum sealer and that thing is a tank. I use it for all my large packaging jobs and dont have a problem with it.
Man this is a screaming deal! I enjoy shooting my 6.5 GAP, its a tack driver and can push the 140s over 3000 easy. Mine shoots the 143 eldx at 3150 with H1000.
Man this is some crazy stuff that Randy has to put up with. I didn't even think about FOIAs till this post. Some people have to much time on their hands. I can understand your frustration on this subject. Keep on making videos because we all enjoy it. I just hope this incident hasn't deterred...
For elk hunting only, I believe the .300 win mag is what the consumer will want most due to the hype. but I believe the 30-06 will accomplish everything the .300 win mag can do within a reasonable distance. The recoil is the issue between the two.
Mostly Elk I would go with the 7mm mag...
Flatline maps are Arizona unit specific, waterproof and contain information about the unit from AZ game and fish. Mytopo is alright just doesn't compare to the Flatline maps. Only problem is they are only available for AZ units.
I used Hank Shaw recipe for kidneys and livers from a whitetail doe. All I can say is that I tried it and will continue to leave those items in the field. All this talk about goose is reducing my interest in harvesting one. I haven't had any problem with duck though.
I always listen to the podcast while I drive but I have wondered why the youtube ones are so far behind. Good to know that podcast have "download' value for you.
Great story so far! I didn't know that goats got to be over 200 pounds and can pack out over 50 pounds. I have heard of pack goats before but didn't know much about them, this thread is very informative. Wheels spinning in my head. Haha. Also spam, eggs and cheese is my favorite breakfast taco...
