Sounds like my family, son and I try to fish wherever we can on trips but daughter and wife not too interested. We enjoyed Charleston for the inshore fishing and dolphin watching. Cool area with nice beaches too.
I am not a draw expert, but wouldn't you want to look at the draw odds from the previous year looking at the tag quota, applicants that applied and drew with first choice and see how many were left over for 2nd choice.
I have had an 8" Ion for three seasons and really like it. No complaints except for replacement batteries are not cheap. When I need another auger I will likely look at the kdrill or similar rout3, but I do not need a 10" hole.
3 tactacam Reveal X's for me, plan to have a few more by the Summer. They recently came out with a few newer models. In addition to the cam, you pay a monthly fee for a plan for the pics to be sent through the app.
We shot some Mallards in SD last week, picked and breasted out. Pan fried a few last night with garlic powder, salt and pepper. Sear meat side and cook on skin side until about 130 degrees pull and let rest for a few minutes. Really good!
We have done the combo every year we have gone which for me is since 2003ish. A little tougher some years for sure, this year it did not help that we only had 4 hunting days. Good luck on your trip, I'm sure it will be fun!
Had a good 4 day trip with my son and pup, not much downtime when you are hunting both ducks and pheasants. Pheasants seem to be doing better than when we were last there in 2019.
First Antelope buck for me last week in WY. Got him opening morning which allowed for 2.5 day of fishing the rest of the trip. Great time and happy to have my Dad with me.
