Can you talk me out of getting a GSP

Don’t overlook goldens. Ours is perfect around the house and has been good in the field despite my limited training knowledge and even worse hunting ability. Her parents were pheasant hunting machines. I talked with a couple folks from Alaska who also bought a few dogs from the same kennel and...

    New Fly Boxes

If someone doesn’t buy it quickly, I might keep this one for myself. This walnut box is 6.75” x 4.75” x 1.25” with an internal depth of 5/8”. It looks pretty slick as is but I can texture the top and/or bottom with a gouge similar to some of the other boxes I’ve posted for an extra $15. Sold!!

    New Fly Boxes

Your purchase will help make hockey great in America again. The box is made of walnut and is roughly 5.75” x 3.75” x 1.25” with an internal depth of 0.63” (which happens to be 5/8” but I’m a biologist and can’t switch from decimals to fractions or change significant digits in the same...

Moving to Wyoming (Looking for advice).

I used to live in southside Virginia and on Monument Avenue in Richmond. I’m plenty familiar and comfortable around all walks of life. Best of luck with the move!

Moving to Wyoming (Looking for advice).

“We are also trying to network and make contacts with folks from all walks of life as well.” 🤔 I think you really mean “all walks of life within 47.6% of the population”, correct? Just making sure everyone is on the same page. Would hate for you to move to a town that doesn’t meet those standards.

Like how this one turned out. Used some stones from the Gallatin River.

Tenacious Tape for a rip in rain gear or Aqua Seal or something else?

I haven’t bothered with both sides. It’s super flexible/soft to the point that I don’t ever notice it.

Tenacious Tape for a rip in rain gear or Aqua Seal or something else?

That won’t fly with the Instagram crowd though

Tenacious Tape for a rip in rain gear or Aqua Seal or something else?

Tenacious Tape has held up great on my puff coat. I use it for pretty much everything including fishing so it’s gotten damp plenty of times. No issues with the tape coming off. Not sure how well it works for waterproofing though. Aqua seal will definitely waterproof it but it might not be too...

    Yellowstone in early December

The northern part of Yellowstone is your best bet for wolves. Unfortunately you can’t drive into the park from West in the winter. You’ll need to circle around to Gardiner unless you want to book a snowcoach or go the sled route. You’ll be able to fish the Madison if you want. Lots of skinny...

Deferring - am I missing something?

I’ve hunted antelope in Wyoming four times: a leftover tag, two three-point tags (was “guiding” my dad on one), and a four-point tag. I’ve seen two other hunters who both happened to be road hunting. Total. Two. A lot of that probably had to with the fact that I was willing to sort through what...
