If it is all made over yonder, might as well get something at Walmart, then when you realize it is a p.o.s. you won't be pissed cause you will say it was just a Walmart p.o.s.
I just took a peak at my Hornady manual, shows 150 GMX max for H4831 SC to be only 62.8 grains. It doesn't list H4831 in the 11th edition of that manual but I would guess it would be about the same maximum.
@hjritter Comparing the Crossfire to the VX-3HD is a Chevy to Lexus comparison. The Vortex Viper line is a better price comparison. VX-3 Freedom line is a closer comparison but I would compare those to the Diamondback scopes myself. The Crossfire, I would compare more to the new Sig Sauer...
My ex-wife, wife at the time of this little story, babysat a couple of kids over the summer for extra grocery money. One of the kids was a boy maybe 7 or 8. This kid comes up to me one day and sings to the tune of the Barney song,
"I hate you
You hate me
Let's get together and kill Barney...
So I just got a call and apparently my luck may have changed. I won a Weatherby Vanguard in 6.5PRC from the Nevada chapter of the RMEF. Pretty stoked. They are shipping it to my local Sportsman's Warehouse. Now to start looking for the elusive 6.5PRC ammo.
I have an American Ruger in 308. That loves the Federal PowerShok 150 grainers and the Federal Blue Box 150 copper loads.
In regard to sighting distance 100 or 200 is good, it depends on the scope a little bit, various BDC reticles assume 100 or 200 yard sight in. Being you are new to rifle...
I have never had much if any variation, but I had heard Barnes ammo before Remington's bankruptcy could vary widely between lots. Unsure if that is the case now.
Not going to lie, if I invest in this the real selling line on the website was under the elk calling bit, "...Amaze your hunting buddies and annoy your family with your newfound calling skills..."
Love it!
Personally, I would keep the 6.5 PRC, but I can't argue your liking of the 308 and love my 308 too. Keeping it simple with all family members has the benefit of simplifying ammo purchases and unless you reload and sometimes in this day and age if you do 6.5 PRC is not easy to get while 308, at...
Read the OP but do not have the time to read all 39 pages of responses.
I do like a lot of the proposals. The control of marijuana caught my interest. My father way back in the early 1980s was saying, "Legalize marijuana and tax it to death." This from a man that abhorred its actual use...
I concur with what has been said, a well constructed smaller caliber bullet that can be accurately shot will be more lethal than a larger caliber bullet that can not be shot by the same individual accurately.
Great discussion and yes as @Big Fin noted a civil one. My understanding is Canada does not have a 2nd Amendment equivalent so it is a bit different than here in the US. To compare what Trudeau did to what the US is looking to do you need to look at what has happened in Canada. Two years ago...
