I think you've got a pretty solid plan. Few comments/ questions.
1st. Even for a larger deer 3 trips should be plenty honestly 2 trips will probably get it done especially after dumping most of your gear after the first load.
2nd. Be ready for serious weather! 2nd rifle can be real mild weather...
Just use a foil pan with some liquid if you go hot n fast for a brisket. I know a couple guys who do real well at competitions cooking their brisket at 300 degrees.
So we got some 22. time in yesterday and I took a look at his form with the 243. It became obvious the scope needed to come back a bit but more importantly the length of pull just isn't a good fit. It's a standard Ruger m77 not a youth model and I have no doubt he will grow into it sooner than...
This weekend is Oklahoma's regular youth season. My buddy took his son out on our property this morning and killed a nice doe. I make fun of this little tractor sometimes but God it's handy.
