25-45 Sharps - Looking for Info from shooters

End of the petro dollar.

If getting a Boyds, pay attention to the model action your ordering. They will specify what screw spacing it is. Order the right one, and your good to go without paying extra. -

Gaps in coverage
For younglings, and versatility there are a couple i'd recommend . First would be the 257 Roberts. 600 yard target, 400 yard deer, coyote, groundhog. Not sure how far i'd poke at an elk with it, 100-200 yards Yeah, I'd go for it! Light recoil. All the ones I've seen have been plenty... -

7x57 bullet weight
For PA white tail & a recoil shy daughter, I built a large ring Mauser in 7X57. Using 120gr Nosler Ballistic Tips and RL17. Has accounted for 3 deer so far. -

Dammit Trigger
Too light a trigger on a Ruger 77??? I think I saw Bigfoot once too... It took the Wolfe spring set and honing on all 3 of my Ruger 77s to get them to where I like. The 25-06 with the 24" light varmint barrel i could actually pick up by the trigger without it dry firing. How heavy are your... -

Guidance on choosing a new barrel or new rifle
I've gotten 4 different E.R. Shaw barrels over the years. For a hunting rifle, they do just fine. One note I will make about Shaw barrels. Their bluing is a thing of beauty!!!
