Another beautiful rifle @ismith
I feel like we're being trolled by north country guy.. Tyler Freel used a little pea shooter 22 ARC on his bull this year. There are plenty of others doing similar.
Possible culprits:
1. Your scope does not adjust properly. Could be a boogered scope, could be how it’s mounted that binds up the erector.
2. You lost zero moving between the 2 locations. Could be a scope reliability issue. Could be a mounting system reliability issue (are those talley rings and...
That was my first thought.. The bull attached to that would take up a lot of cooler space. I can get by with 1 or 2 hunters and just a crew cab + 6.5' box but an elk rack is probably going to be riding on top of stuff in the bed!
That's one sweet bull though with big matching split 5ths!
Using a double based or ball powder on those loads?
I haven't had it happen but I primarily use pretty temp stable powders and dont usually have rounds sitting in a hot chamber for too long. Makes sense that it could happen!
Risk over-pressure from a hot barrel? Have you observed issues with that from rounds cooking in the chamber?
Depending on how many rounds you're wanting to shoot, heavier barrels heat up slower but they also cool down slower.
Does it still shoot good with the fouling? If so, dont worry about it.
What kind of barrel is it?
I would have no concerns about using a brass brush with non-abrasive cleaning compounds.
I'm joking. That's just what comes to mind when i see EABCO. I'm pretty sure thats where I bought a tuned up encore frame a while back.
Google suggests they used green mountain barrel blanks at one time, not sure if that's still the case. Nice pricepoint on those barrels for sure, less than...
ELDx are going to be violent at close range but I'd have zero fear with them penetrating sufficiently for a whitetail.
Don't need Sub MOA and dont need a 7 mag for a whitetail either. It's all noise in the big scheme of things.
