It's all about marketing yourself and/or brand now days, can't say I wouldn't do the same thing if I was in their situation. But at the same time it kind of sux that this is what hunting and almost everything has become.
We just got back from Cody this evening after looking at a handful of ranches in the Big Horn Basin. We may actually put in an offer on one of them after we get some more info requested.
While I do feel for the people that have to go through this and it sux that they have to. They are getting paid back...eventually so it's not like they aren't going to ever get paid for their work still sux to not get paid on time though. At the same time they signed up for a gov't job, anytime...
Didn't most gov't workers miss their first paycheck about a week ago? I know the shutdown has been going on for 26 days but that's not how long people have gone without a paycheck....yet. Unfortunately it doesn't look like either side is going to give in soon and will probably take something...
Funny this thread came up. We are actually scheduled to be in Cody the beginning of Feb to look at a handful of small ranches in a few cities in the Big Horn Basin. Won't be for retirement though will be more a vacation type home at first and I doubt I'll try to become a resident at least in the...
Lots of things to do in Miami depending what you like. To me Miami is kind of like Vegas in that is fun for a few days but you start to stay there too long it can get boring unless you're in to certain types of things. You're going during the season, all the snowbirds and tourists are there so...
Bumping this back up with some questions. I've gone through a few of the "moving to X" threads and The Warden and I are kind of in a somewhat same/different situation. Same in that we would somewhat move out west but different in that this would be our 3rd home, the others being in MO and FL...
I have gohunt. It's a little on the high side for what you get, especially if you already know the units you will be applying in or saving points for then it like most others aren't worth much to a person at all. The problem with all these services is that they all claim to do a better job at...
While I definitely understand where you are coming from now. In regards to comment #2 there isn't anything illegal about taking a high fenced type deer and trying to enter it into P&Y or B&C record books, at least to my knowledge it isn't illegal. Definitely against their rules that's for sure...
I don't live in the SE but MT is far from squeaky clean in the poaching department. Fact is every state has poachers, just like every state has various other crimes and they all have people who are outstanding hunters and outstanding citizens in general. To single out a region or group or people...
Maybe in MO they take it more seriously. This guy and his family where recently sentenced. He got 1 year in jail, plus another 120 days. Permanent loss of license, not that it matters to him, and six figures in fines and bonds. That was due to a 3 year poaching operation he did and it was...
I guess I'm in the minority here. If the regulations and laws say I can continue to hunt I'm gonna keep hunting. I'm going to try everything I can to find the animal first though. Now if I run across the animal I shot at then of course I'm going to go after it, but if I don't run across it and...
If you're not familiar with the area you will be hunting probably not the best idea. No sense in burning points trying to fit in two hunts in a short period of time. Now if you have the ability to do multiple weeks or do archery and come back in rifle giving you an extended hunt then it may be...
Are the youtube videos being put up during the season/after the hunt ends or are they like what it was on TV where it was the prior season we are watching. In other words the newest bison hunt, dall sheep, WY pronghorn, NM elk, was that all done this hunting season or last?
Yea I'd like to keep it but at the same time I'd like to know just how they where purchased by the previous Governor. That is the real issue that caused all of this. It's one of those things where a few years back the Governor approved the purchase of thousands of acres of land but no one really...
I live in MO and have been following this somewhat. One thing before you read anything from the STL Post is that they are very liberal and anything Republican's do they will write something without all the facts and present something in a very liberal way. Basically these parks where purchased...
I can help you out. I live in MO and hunt both private and public. Are you planning on hunting rifle or bow season? Bow season you get 2 tags and 2 turkey tags. As for public hunting like anywhere else rifle is going to be more crowded than archery and weekends will be more crowded than...
You can do OTC archery mule deer and antelope in NE for about $370ish total for both. To my knowledge that is the cheapest multi species tag combo you can get that will still allow you to hunt bucks. After that I think WY and ID will be your best bet for low cost tag options. I don't consider...
The crazy thing about Cruz and I'm sure I'm missing something, is a lot of the western states with all the public land he has won(those that had primaries) and still may even win some even after dropping out, he definitely get a lot of votes still. I know he talked about public land a lot in ID...
