    What are you currently reading?

Currently reading "Fire Weather, On the Front Lines of a Burning World", John Vaillant. Interesting read about the fires a few years ago around Fort McMurray.

    Long time coming.

Nice first bull, way to get it done and you didn't have to go solo. The bull I shot this year, first muzzy animal, I was surprised with the total lack of bloodshot around the wound channel. Probably something to do with the low velocity. Really had to look for the bullets that didn't exit...

    What are you currently reading?

Read a couple that Howard Copenhaver wrote many years ago, recall that they were good reads.

    What are you currently reading?

Just finished Smoke Elser's "Hush of the Land", good read. He did a lot of good for the Bob and Scapegoat.

Need advice on a tripod and head

I have the Slik Pro CF 634 with a Tricer LP head for lightweight and the Pro CF 834 with a Sirui VA-5 for more stability. The VA-5 head is easier to lock in place, the Tricer head seemed to be a little hard to keep on target when mounting your phone to the scope. Haven't shot off either, but...

Wyoming west general 2024 LATE planning

The WatchDuty app is your friend when it comes to wildfires. Kept us on top of what was happening with the Elk fire when we could get reception. Knew when to pull camp and get the hell out.

    Elk .... Let's see them!!!

Speaking of bullets, when you shoot a muzzy bullet at under 1700fps and it leaves no bloodshot meat at all, but makes jelly out of the lungs, make sure that you recover both bullets prior to grinding the burger. The one bullet we found buried in the off side shoulder, the one we didn't was in...

Not quite a tailgate pic, in the 40's or 50's, Central Washington, Dad coming out of elk camp, way before my time.

    Changing Colors and Bugling Bulls

Nice bull for sure, way to get it done. Great monetary breakdown, should be an eye-opener for those that think they will save money by harvesting their own meat. The majority of the cost goes directly to the experience, and if you are not into the experience of seeing new country and all its...

What Makes A Fire More Beneficial Than Destructive?

It is all dependent on the intensity of the wildfire. Most wildfires create a mosaic of habitat in an otherwise stagnant forest. I love to hunt burns anywhere from 2 to 10 years after because the animals have so much more feed, but they still have the cover for escape and thermal protection...

    Weight Loss Drugs

Very well said! I've always had the belief that if you can't easily pronounce the ingredients, your body can't process said ingredient. Avoid the middle of the grocery store, shop around the edges, fresh foods, whole foods, avoid the processed crap, your body will thank you. The lines at the...
