    I'd go with a zero degree down bag and a sleeping pad with a good R-Value. A good down bag should weigh in between 2-4 lbs. Another option could be a 20 degree bad with a good liner.

    Choosing packs

    I enjoy the Mystery Ranch Selway. It's not only a great hunting pack because of the load shelf, but it is also light enough to be a backpacking option. It Carries heavy loads with ease and has plenty of room for a 3-5 day trip. It is much more expensive than the Badlands though.

    The VX-5 comes standard with the zero lock turret. The only way to bump it would be if it were not in the locked position. Once you zero at 100-200 yards or whatever you wish, the turret should be reset.
